Why We Decided to Leave California
California will always be part of who we are, but over the years we watched the state change in ways that no longer fit our family. The cost of living kept climbing, our hard-earned income seemed to stretch less every year, and the direction of the schools and the culture left us feeling like outsiders in our own community. We realized we wanted to plant our roots somewhere that shared our beliefs about faith, family, and freedom.
Choosing Texas
We looked at several states, but Texas kept rising to the top of our list. No state income tax meant more of our money stayed with our family.
